Ernesto Fajardo Joins GatesAir as Sales Director for the Caribbean and Latin American Region
As broadcasters across the CALA region face significant technological shifts, Mr. Fajardo sees enormous opportunities and demand for the advanced DTV, FM radio, and Audio over IP solutions that comprise the GatesAir brand
Cincinnati, OH, April 19, 2017
As the broadcast industry prepares to convene at the 2017 NAB Show next week in Las Vegas, GatesAir announces that Ernesto Fajardo has joined the sales team as Sales Director for the Caribbean and Latin American (CALA) region. The appointment represents the first phase in a long-term, strategic GatesAir initiative to invest in new resources throughout the region. This includes a larger network of regional sales managers to cover specific geographical areas, effectively bringing GatesAir closer to its customers and extensive channel partner network.
As Sales Director, Ernesto will manage all regional sales managers and partner relationships across CALA, reporting to Joseph (Joe) Mack, GatesAir’s Vice President of Sales, Americas. Ernesto will also be part of the delegation representing GatesAir at the NAB this year (Booth N2613).
Prior to joining GatesAir, Fajardo experience working for medium to large global multinational corporations, including Strategic Product & Services (SPS), IBM Global Services and Dimension Data, which serves the Media and Communications industry. During his 11 years at Dimension Data he served as Director of Operations, Americas, Cloud Services. In this important role, he established the vision and direction around how the company’s Cloud services would be delivered to clients, and ensured that profitable targets were met while maximizing revenue per cloud contract.
Along with his seasoned background in corporate transformation – as well as his proven track record of results in sales, financial management, building strategic relationships and effectively managing people – he possesses an in-depth understanding and awareness of the dynamic CALA market. Together, this skillset will prove instrumental in managing the ongoing digital transitions and shifting media landscape taking place throughout the region.
“While these CALA countries have different broadcast standards and unique needs, this diverse customer base is facing a truly transformative period,” Fajardo said. “My team is committed to supporting them as they migrate to more advanced broadcast standards, including ATSC 3.0, and deploy more powerful, energy-efficient TV/radio transmission platforms. And in our efforts to drive closer customer and partner engagement region-wide, we will continue to invest in resources and build our team to prepare our customers for transitions, growth and new business opportunities.”
Fajardo additionally possesses a broader skillset in business operations and managed services. While with SPS, Fajardo gained valuable experience leading and managing IT sales and service operations; as well as professional and managed services. In this capacity, he managed yearly and quarterly strategic planning and execution efforts, and provided oversight of quarterly strategic goal targets and the overall transformation program’s performance. He was also responsible for M&A due diligence and post-acquisition integration, including the acquisition and integration of a 50-employee Cisco business unit with annual revenues of $35 million.
Fajardo expects to leverage his unique and extensive business skillset to quickly cultivate relationships with broadcasters throughout the CALA region.
“To meet my goals as GatesAir’s new Sales Director for the CALA Region, I will implement an innovative go-to-market strategy, and strive to improve our partner vendor management program, among other essential first-steps,” Fajardo said. “I will also provide guidance and oversight to the many GatesAir regional sales managers that are tasked with serving customers in specific CALA countries, working closely as a team to provide the sales and service support that GatesAir is renowned for worldwide in TV and radio.”
Fajardo has an M.B.A and Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Florida International University, and he is based in Miami, Fla. He can be reached at 513-459-3470 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
