High-Efficiency VHF (Band III) Air-Cooled Digital DAB Transmitters

GatesAir’s Maxiva VAXT-HE pushes power density and efficiency to new levels for digital radio. Covering VHF Band III (174-240 MHz), VAXT-HE delivers from 15 W up to 15 kW of pre-filter DAB/DAB+ power with AC-to-RF efficiencies up to 53%, all in compact, service-friendly packages that lower energy and operating costs.

The Maxiva VAXT-HE Series transmitter system features several key components:

• Software-defined exciter/driver with Real-Time Adaptive Correction (RTAC) for linearity and spectral compliance; single or dual-drive configurations with seamless input switching
• Broadband Doherty power amplifiers (VHF Band III) for maximum efficiency and headroom across the band
• Hot-swappable PA modules and separate hot-swappable compact PSUs (three redundant per 3.5RU PA) simplify service and keep you on-air
• High-efficiency air cooling with variable-speed fans to minimize noise and power draw
• Optional high-stability GPS/GLONASS timing (10 MHz/1 PPS) supports SFN deployments and resilient holdover
• Operator-friendly control with Web GUI, SNMP and GPIO for local or remote management
